The Geo Plus concept
Our goal is to aim for significant cost reductions for our customers. We try to accomplish this with our unique concept. This concept is built on three principles:
- Bring your own surveyors
- Bring your own additional sensors
- We provide service & knowledge
1. Bring your own surveyors
Customers can rent our vessels with or without a crew of surveyors. Our experienced marine crew will always be at your service on any excursion. Our hydrographical crew is specialised in the use of our sensors and mechanisms standard available onboard.
If our customer brings its own surveyors, our technical consultants have contact on a regular basis to ensure that everything on board is functioning optimally.
2. Bring your own additional sensors
Our vessels are built for one purpose only: surveying. They are equipped with high-end sensors, GPS, a USBL system and other surveying equipment. Customers can rent our vessels with only the ‘basic’ list of high-end sensors, but on top of that we can install numerous additional types of sensors.
Basic installation of a vessel
The Geo Focus is standard equipped with the following hull mounted sensors:

- DP1 Alphatron / NAVIS 400

3. We provide service & knowledge to help you
At Geo Plus we listen to our customers, and we have tailored our survey vessels based on their wishes and our expertise, reducing / eliminating extensive mobilisation time and cost when converting other vessels into survey mode.
Our larger vessels are equipped with gyro stabiliser technology. This improves the overall workability and welfare onboard of our vessels , providing savings to our customers. This also leads to more consistent and high quality surveying data.
About sustainability & innovation
Innovation is one of the key success factors of Geo Plus. Many of our innovations spring from our vast believe in sustainability.
75% fuel reduction
We believe in renewable energy and therefore strive to use as little fossil fuel as possible. This is why we equip every new vessel with energy efficient hybrid engines. For surveying purposes, this can mean a 75% fuel reduction.
Noise reduction
The noise from vessels imposes a threat to underwater sea life, especially to marine mammals like seals and whales. Therefore our modern surveyance vessel are designed to produce significantly less sound than conventional vessels. But this innovation led to an unexpected advantage: the results from our sensors were dramatically improved. It turned out that using older vessels, with more noisy engines had a negative impact on the surveyance data.
